Hummer is a brand of off-road vehicles sold by General Motors (GM). The original H1 was based on the military High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV, or Humvee). However, the Hummer H2 and the Hummer H3 were based on other, smaller civilian-market vehicles.
In 1992, AM General began selling a civilian version of the M998 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV or Hum-Vee) vehicle to the public under the brand name "Hummer" .
Hummers are cars which is made to be strong unlike other civilian vehicles. But I was wrong Hummers aren't strong like we think so.Recently I saw a News about Hummer met an accident with a school bus.First I thought about the kids in the bus.But when i saw the scene pictures of the incident i was surprised by the scenario.Take a look at the slide show.
To find out what actually happened I did a little research on both the vehicles the Hummer and the School Bus,to my astonishment i found the fact that the average empty school bus weights over 20,000 lbs, designed with most of its mass low, with re-enforced bumpers. The black stripes you see on a bus, are not just paint, those are heavy gauge corrugated steel braces running the length of the bus. The ONLYvehicle on the road harder than a school bus is an armored car. The only collisions in which the bus had more damage than the other vehicle is by hitting a big rig or a train.

I have also collected hummer accidents and I've wanted to post some pictures on my blog, to demonstrate that hummers are also cars, and may not survive an accidents.

Hummers also use up a lot of fuel.
I cannot believe this is true! But it true
tks for the effort you put in here I appreciate it!
ok people this is NOT i repeat NOT a HUMVEE. It is nothing more then a glorified truck for the retards who think bigger is better. The real thing is called humvee not hummer. Hummer is no more then Chevy Ford or Dodge, its a name. The Humvee was a replacement for the aging Jeep that surved our troops above and beyond up thru veitnam. A real humvee can go off a ten foot cliff and drive away. How would i know that easy i surved proudly for my country from 2004 to 2008 when i broke my lower back repelling out of a black hawk. Durring training we put a HUMVEE that was about to be scraped to the test. My platoon simply pushed it off a cliff, repelled down rolled it back onto its wheels and it started up i drove it back up to base and sadly never got to see that one again. So i say this STOP COMPARING THE HUMMER TO THE HUMVEE THERE IS NO COMPARISON AT ALL. The sheet metal styling isn’t even right.
Wow, that bus really did a number on that little hummer…
It would be more interesting if the author left the Yahoo Messenger We could discuss this theme more deeply
